Urban Struggles and The Right to the City

The realization of the 2nd Workshop Urban Struggles and Right to the City follows the activities of the 1st Workshop held in December 2019, at Uppsala University. The event promoted an international academic discussion and knowledge exchange on research regarding urban movements, right to housing and right to the city in European countries and Brazil, aiming to develop an innovative comparative and transnational approach beyond the Global North / Global South divide for the study of urban movements in Europe and Latin America. By bringing together a group of social scientists, architects and urban planners, from all career stages, but with an important number of early career academics, this project sought to strengthen their research and higher education activities by offering the opportunity to collaborate with international colleagues and learn from their different theoretical frameworks, case studies and research results.
